ABOUT THE COLLECTION

Scarlet Woods

spring/summer 2020

This collection was inspired by early versions of the story of the little red riding hood, in which the red cape signified the first period of the woman, and the evil wolf was the man who wanted to seduce her. This medieval tale did not have the lightness of what Disney presented to us, but rather sober stories that carried a message of punishment to the one who was not careful.

In this collection, I created prints that remind me of elements of European forests such as flowers and the wolf. The art direction of the color palette was defined by the blood of menstruation in red, the winter of Europe in white, the carnal danger/skin in light pink, and a darker mood in light gray.
